She is L-O-V-E-D

Birthday Dress Photo Shoot

It did not start out well. Olive was being stoic, trying to hold back tears already in progress. Then Clover bopped Azure in the face. More tears.

Clover's "I'm sorry" hug. Azure, trying to refuse the apology.

But then everyone wanted a hug from the newly turned 2-year-old.

Once again I used upholstery fabric [just can't stay away] found this time at IKEA [and no, they don't have all the numbers, just 2].

A variation on my ruffled cuff--little jade bubbles bobbing along the crimson ruffle.

Vintage glass buttons--green, of course.

They were all bosom buddies again, by the time we were finished, at least for a minute.

  13. Oh, so stinkin' cute! It's obvious that Clover realizes that she's the center of attention here & loving every minute of it! I love emotions coming from all of the girls in these pictures.

  18. ok, i'm new to your blog. and i'm inspired that you make terrific things and take beautiful photographs - with five girls! i have one who is about to turn two in four month time and i'm lucky to sew anything for her in less then two weeks' time.

i have to ask: your daughter in the first photo - the one on the right in the front - is she wearing a hanbok? it's beautiful!

    happy birthday to clover!

  19. @Grace: YES! It is a Hanbok and it came all the way from Korea from our trip last fall.

  21. What a perfect use for that fabric! I was just looking at it at IKEA (it's on clearance now if you want more!) and wondering what could be done...hmmm I have a little girl turning two in a few months, just maybe...

  22. I recently started following your blog and LOVE IT. You are so clever and crafty. I adore Clover's dress and looked high and low for pattern 7239 everywhere without any success. Do you know if the pattern is still around?

  23. @Laura--I've looked it up as well and can't find it. I am guessing it is out of print (I have had it for several years now). Perhaps I'll make my own to share :)

  25. That dress is awesome - the perfect fabric! You'd make millions if you sold them on Etsy. Okay, maybe not millions...but a lot of people would buy them. ;)
