Autumnal Equinox--Celebrated

Some of you, okay, most of you are probably enjoying the tell tale (or is it tale tell?) and most exciting signs of fall-
the start of school
the crisp air in the morning
the rainbow color of leaves
sweaters and boots on hand
final harvest of the garden

Well, for us, school has been in session for a month and a half now, the air is cooler  (but certainly no crisp is to be found in it), leaves are still green and very attached to their twigs and branches, I only look longingly at my stack of sweaters and row of boots, and I just planted (two types of) carrots, beets, lettuce, and pumpkins (some of which are already sprouting, dad!).

So, even if it was just a date on the calendar for us, we celebrated at the Dill home, using roasted bell peppers as my "forced" autumn scent in our Autumnal Equinox Celebration Dinner.  We are ready for our Florida Fall.

  2. We did wear sweaters yesterday, but had to take off our jackets by noon. I note crispy leaves on your festive table.

  3. I know how you feel having only just hailed from Phoenix. I am relishing our newly crisp air and even sent Seth off on the bus in a jacket this morning.

What a great idea. The more celebrations the better!

  4. I know, dad, Divine managed to round up those leaves somewhere. Also, notice the bowl of M&Ms, I took out all the blue ones for our fall colored treats!

  8. I agree with your sister. How do you have the motivation and time to go all out? One day (in my dreams) I will be 1/3 of the mother you are.
