Project Sewn: The End

Despite the sweat, blood, and tears (embarrassed a tad that I mean that literally), not to mention the mile high laundry that greeted me each week, lack of well-rounded meals throughout, and general household chaos, I admit to missing the rush and push of sewing for Project Sewn.  I thrive on deadlines (and maybe a bit of the competition).  Perhaps that reveals my lack of self-discipline and tendency to take the easier road of children's sewing, but I really would like to do more sewing for "big" people.  In fact, Ryan mentioned last Sunday that we were all wearing something I made....except for him.  I accept that as a challenge.
After putting all my looks together, it's rather a cohesive "line".  I think that comes from being true to one's style, which I tried hard to do, because I wanted to be able to wear each of these (and I have already!)  And not to sound too Academy Awards Speech-y, but I couldn't have done it without Pearl (see my tripod shot), my sweet little photographer who has some serious talent, Ryan, who went to bed without me several nights, all the texts to (and from) my sisters and parents when I just needed some fresh eyes, all the contestants who brought their A-game to the table, and to all you who voted for me, of course.  Thank you.  Consider it a group win. Virtual high five!

  6. Congrats Katy! Love your style and your skills! After you recover and sew something fabulous for Ryan and hang out with your family, may I throw in a request/mini non fancy tutorial for that black ruffly skirt? My daughter would be giddy if I made it for her.

I love your heart felt thoughts and stories that you share. Many of them have hit home to me with the worldly pressures of raising my two little girls and other little factors and trials in my life. A lot of what I have read from you in the past has been what I have needed to hear. So thank you again for sharing.
