Again.

I know.  I vowed last time I wouldn't make another one of these.  But there was sweet talking involved, and I did already have the material [being overly ambitious when I bought it] and perhaps some monetary compensation.  I think the yellow one is so vividly vibrant and the neutral tones skirt is mighty mysterious.  Which one suits your mood?  If you're not one for guessing on measurements and construction, you can get a pattern over at Made.  [I reduced the size of my ruffled rows to an inch.]

  1. Oh, how lovely! Both skirts look great - two opposite personalities. The Can-Can skirt is so fun to make. I like how yours turned out after reducing the ruffled rows to an inch. I will have to try that! Yellow is on my to do list for my toddler.

  3. @TX Girl--If you've never sewn before, don't start with this project. It just takes a lot of time.

Try out this free pattern if this is your first time sewing:

Try adding a ruffle or two to this pattern, and then go on to the can-can skirt.

  5. I like the yellow one. I also like the pics of your girls' eyes. Divine looks sage; Pearl looks serious; Olive is smiling with her eyes; Azure looks eager; Clover looks cute.

  10. I love your color choices! I want to make this for the baby I babysit. I have the pattern from Made, but I'm not sure how to shorten it. How did you decide the lengths of the tiers to change the skirt length?

  13. I definitely want this pattern! But I am nervous about the cost of making one. Can you eleviate my fears? Or is it just worth it because they are so darn adorable!!??

  14. Beth--Honestly, they're not so much costly as they are time consuming when you do them with an inch width for the ruffles. But, yes, SO adorable :)
