This neutral colored skirt is my own design. It's made of a beautifully draping Pendleton wool with baby wale corduroy swatchees as part of the pleating. I wanted something asymmetrical, but nothing too distracting from the variegated verge.
I had actually been speaking of your dresses in particular. They are darling! And so creative. In fact, I had googled "shabby apple design" and saw your two cute dresses before they had picked the top 15 and figured I didn't stand a chance. I can't believe they weren't chosen. The only thing I can figure is that they were too expensive to make so they didn't choose them. You are such a clever seamstress.
Oh my goodness Katy this one rivals float for me and that is saying something because float knocked my socks off!ReplyDelete
Oooh, Ashley, float, eh? I was really wish-washy on this one and asked several opinions until I decided I did like as is.ReplyDelete
Danielle-thank you for your kind words. I was bummed I didn't get in the top 15, too. I will console myself with your thoughts they were just to costly to produce--thanks.
you have the best taste- LOVE the skirt!ReplyDelete
So Suave, yet sassy!ReplyDelete
Can we have a picture of you in it?
Do you need more swatchees? Fantastic. What is on the side of the skirt?ReplyDelete
Dad-I am missing the insert on my tripod, but will post a picture as soon as I get it.ReplyDelete
Mom-The side has a smaller ruffle in the seam out of the same wool. YES! I'd love more swatchees! (Unless you're going to use yours for something..)
Katy, I love it. Yes, we want to see it on you!ReplyDelete
The skirt is a stunner. Please model it for us!ReplyDelete
I love the side baby ruffles!ReplyDelete
Perfect balance of tailored, artsy, and feminine. I'd wear it till it wore out.ReplyDelete
so classy Katy! I love it.ReplyDelete
Okay Katy... You don't know me but I'm IN LOVE with your blog. (I knew your hubby in jr. high and high school - I was "Heidi Brown" back then...)ReplyDelete
Just wanted to say "hi" and let you know you are my hero! :)
I'm in awe of your creations. I agree with Ashley, I've loved all your pieces, but having those swatches at the bottom- genius.ReplyDelete
Love the variegated verge! What a clever idea and use for your swatchees!ReplyDelete
