On Growing Children

I wish growing children was as easy as growing a garden--a kind of hit and miss, try again sort of deal.  Sure, every now and again I forget to water, but can easily pick up a new (and perhaps improved) plant at the local nursery (as seen here.)  Easily forgiven for neglect in weeding, over-watering, scorching mid-day sun, or a bit too much shade.  Yes, plants, I find to be quite manageable in comparison. Next on the outdoor-to-do list is a box garden--tight space gardening.  I would pay much for a how-to book on growing children in confined places, quietly.  I'd like that.  A lot.  We do our best, though, don't we?  Resiliency of children is....well, as they say, priceless.  This garden of ours is hard work, and will soon become even more labor intensive with the new crop next month, but the harvest is worth it. Love to my bouquet: DPO&A!

  1. A very poetic look at the raising of children. May I add a bit to the image? The season of raising children continues as sure as the seasons of the earth. And the harvest continues forever! Thanks for continuing the harvest. And such a beautiful one at that.

  2. You've heard the phrase, "Bloom Where You're Planted". You have been "planted" as the mother of soon to be five. Not only are you blooming as their mother, but you are such a good nurturer of those growing at your feet, helping them to bloom too.
You and Ryan are good gardeners.
