All About Giraffes

At first she was mad I made her draw the giraffe the entire height of the poster board, but after accolades from her dad and gammy, I knew she forgave me.  I'm glad I don't have the gestational period of a giraffe--14 to 15 months and then give birth to a 6 foot tall baby!  As my mom says, "Someone always has it worse than you do."  Great work, Divine!

  1. i did now know baby giraffes were 6 feet tall at birth. thank you, miss divine, for that educational information. your picture is very wonderful.

katy, are you feeling more like a hippo these days? baby hippos are born in 8 months. did you know that? their gestation period is shorter than humans, but their babies weigh in around 40 lbs.

have you nailed down any names yet? are you sharing?

  2. Yes, glad I'm not a hippo either!

No names, yet. It's a commentary on our life that we had Divine's name picked out within the first weeks of knowing she was coming and Azure had to wait weeks after she was born to have a name. Doesn't look good for baby number five, does it?

  4. Tell Divine that I love her giraffe! My favorite part was description of a baby giraffe as tall as two Divines.
