Drum roll PLEASE!

I have run out of steam (so did my camera, as this was the only picture it would let me take). At least for today. Pearl screamed (yes, screamed) all the way from the house to the apartment that she left her kid's meal toy of a chicken at the house. One of those days when I simply had no response to her, thankfully allowing Ryan to take over the moment we walked in the door. But, I do have this photo to show for all my manual labor of late. Notice the chairs--painted wood with a clean coat of white, new pads (cut with an electric knife--alas, a use for the afore thought useless) covered in kid friendly vinyl, with the brass finish removed with a most wonderful product of paint stripper IN a spray form. With blisters on the PALMS of my hands from the 10 screws per chair, I must say I am quite pleased with the final product. No floating fruit, or pasty, pale yellow walls. I'm also pleased with my scallop-edged cafe curtain. I've always wanted a cafe curtain, though I'm not certain why.

  1. Looks like the perfect place for a leisurely breakfast--now, if you can just figure out how to make breakfast "leisurely"! I love it!! I'm amazed how many lives those chairs have had!! We are still on folding chairs at our dining table.

  4. Do you remember the name of the paint stripper product you used on the chairs? I have the same set of chairs and was thinking about spray painting the metal but would rater just remove the 'gold' finish.
