Sew All 26: H

I was taking a little breather from the intense sewing for Project Sewn, and missed getting this post up for H week!

I was in Virginia a few weeks ago to help my sister with her new baby and older kids and made a trip to G Street Fabric store.  I posted it on instagram and lots of you mentioned their high prices as a deterent to shopping there, and I agree that it was pricier than I normally like, but I found some bargains on their $2/yard table (remember the A week dress?) as well as this cotton that was regularly priced.
I rarely pay full price for fabric, but this has been one of the few exceptions. I couldn't wait all the way until S for sign language, so it became H is for hands. ;)
I also found a giant "cookie" stamp at Kate's Paperie that said Homemade on it I used as a little pocket.
I added a button of a girl with a Hat for a little pocket buddy!
I used a pattern from this Japanese book.  It's originally a shirt, so I just lengthened it to dress length. I love the double elastic on the sleeves.  There are no closures, so it's easy for little ones to put on.

Remember when piping was 15¢?  Ha.  I wish.  I thought it was about time to use this beauty along the neckline and pocket.
My sweet Azure...

  3. I must find this fabric! I'm not as talented as you - but my daughter would love something made from it. :) You always add something unique to everything you make. I love the pretty blue piping and the stamps are so cool.

Azure is such a tiny little beauty. Love the freckles, knobby & scabbed knees and that hair!

  5. Azure looks so sweet in this dress; the fabric and piping are adorable and the STAMPand girl button; again, I am in heaven just admiring your awesomeness.... I wish I had this fabric. I would do pillows; because that is pretty much all I can do. Such sweetness. I love Azure's knees.
Didnt we all have those knees???? Such fond memories at that age!

  15. Are those your harps? I wondered where you were able to use such awesome "props", if they weren't.
