Poppy Party Skirt

I have been sewing like mad.  Really.  I'm trying to sew pajamas for everyone, not that I'm procrastinating or anything, but it's been hard to find the energy and time to get some solid sewing in.  Plus, it's my plan B.  I'm also trying to get red and white Sunday attire sewn, but I am going to have to pull out some things I've done in the past for my girls.  In my attempt to create Christmas color coordinating couture for my brood, I made this for myself!
I'm sharing the quick how-to over at Kelly's "12 Days of Skirts" series at Sewing in No Man's Land.
Another project closer!

  1. I just can't believe how fabulous that is....amazing that you with a new baby and 5 other Dills can find time to sew so beautifully. This dress is gorgeous. Your kids will always remember mums Christmas dress for 2011....

  4. Love this skirt, Katy. I am so close to picking up a sewing machine and taking a class to learn the art. If I do it, you'd be single-handedly responsible for it. I hope you're happy now.

  5. Looks great. I'm so impressed that you're sewing for your whole family. I only have two little guys, and I don't feel like I can get anything accomplished these days. Great job.

  12. I went to the link and am a little confused....is the tutorial supposed to be for the skirt or the flowers? I couldn't find the flowers anywhere...

  13. Tammy--sorry for the confusion--I scheduled this post while I was out of town and it posted a day earlier than Kelly's. It's up now.

  15. Katy, this is absolutely gorgeous! I just LOVE IT!! I am having sewing withdrawals right now as my Bernina is at my moms and I haven't had much spare time to get over there to use it and I am letting her use while she feels up to it. Anyway, this dress is so beautiful I can hardly stay home knowing my machine is over there! Thanks for the inspiration!
