There's a bird in my car

So, I accidentally washed a diaper, which would be really fantastic if we used cloth diapers.  But we don't.  And boyhowdee those disposables make a mess.  Our washer is now protesting by way of not draining.  Great.  Ryan even unhooked the tubes and removed the back and wiggled things around inside last night.  He's a most phenomenal wiggler.  Didn't work.  So the clothes have been schlopped out on the garage cement and I with laundry beginning to pile.  I've decided I'm just going to make them new clothes instead of washing them.  I think that's what Meg is doing during her Kid's Clothing Week Challenge.

Then this morning Ryan made pancakes for breakfast.  He thought he put a jar of homemade chocolate sauce in the microwave.  Turns out, they were chipotle peppers.  It confused my senses.  I tried to smear the peppers on my pancake, but I just couldn't do it.

In other news, I've had birds appearing in my life.  Someone left the back door open last week and I walked into the sewing studio to find a bird perched on my sewing machine.  I loved it!  Then, just the day or two later, I was running Azure to school, scolding the two babiest of dills for not being buckled when they chirped up that there was a bird in the car.  They were telling the truth.  I'm wondering if these are signs.  Signs of what, I don't know.

Anyhow.  I can't quite show you yet what I've been sewing during KCWC, well besides the swimsuit yesterday.  One of my least favorite things to do: I've just finally swapped out the winter clothes for the summer clothes.  Or other way around.  Whatever.  Clover has a serious lack of pajamas, but she and Azure are the same size [let's be honest, Azure is actually even more petite than Cloves, bless her hungry little heart].  Clover always wants to wear tutus to bed anyway, so maybe I shouldn't worry about it....but you know me better than that.

*yes, I realize I made two words up in this post.  any typos, however, are purely accidental and part of my charm.

  3. That post made me laugh. In a very sympathetic way.

The bird thing is just crazy and kind of fun. My kids would love it. If I found a bird in our car, I'd be thrilled ... he could live for years on all the spilled Goldfish.

  4. This post just made my day. I love that there were birds in your car/house. And I felt bad about the diaper, but the peppers in the microwave just got me laughing! That's kind of like me finding the garlic powder in the fridge two days later. :)

  5. according to my go-to website on dreams, seeing birds means - "symbolizes your goals, aspirations and hopes. To dream of chirping and/or flying birds, represents joy, harmony, ecstasy, balance, and love. It denotes a sunny outlook in life. You are experiencing spiritual freedom and psychological liberation. It is almost as if a weight has been lifted off your shoulders."
    sounds good!

  6. I love your idea of just sewing new clothes instead of washing....can I do that all the time?

  8. Emily-well, we actually had another go at it and Ryan found 2 quarters, a socket wrench attachment and a barrette in the pump. we think it was actually the barrette keeping the pump from working, but have no idea how those things made it in there. so far, it seems to be working again--good thing because, although I can make new clothes, accidents in sheets are another story...

  9. Birds must mean something good. If it is a sign, I think it is a good one.

  10. This post and that picture make me smile! It must've been the week for washing diapers, one of my friends did the exact same thing! I always find assorted weirdness in my washer, the best thing so far...a spork.

  12. The little birdy is coming to tell you that you have a new egg in the nest. Will baby have an avian inspired name I wonder?
