Ardent Ann

My little sister, Ann, now 27 years, a very young age for the amount of burdens already accumulated on her slight frame.  Her sweet little Mary Deane, diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, being most of that weight.  I love her unflinching courage in doing what's right, not only for herself, but for her small family.  You don't need to wonder where you stand with Ann.  A relief, no?  She tells you like it is and defends her position like a warrior.  It was just confirmed that her baby Clark has dodged the cystic fibrosis bullet, so to speak.  A healthy, chubby, HUNGRY, baby boy.  Ann is now thankfully learning normalcy.

Yes, that is how normal infant dirty diaper should look.  Yes, that is the normal sleeping schedule of a new baby.  Yes, you have been amazingly brave to care for another one so fragile, and now you get to gnaw on chubby baby legs and not fret about getting enough food in that round belly of his.  I am grateful for this for you.  You need no proving, but you have the strength to fulfill these roles.  I love and admire you.

Happy Birthday, Ann.

  5. Your sister is beautiful (inside and out). I have tears reading about her courage and your lovely words describing her and the joys of having "normalcy."

  8. Wow... I was reading your blog posts (I've been away lately and needed to catch up). This was the last post I needed to read to get all caught up and my heart stopped... my little girl (age 3) has CF. My litte boy (age 1) does not. I understand the 'ohhh, so THAT's what normal parents do', but also oddly feel priviledged that I know something outside of the norm. Chin up Ann! x Neala Ann (!!)... Miles
