Sewing Project 13

Faux suede cape and cuffs for the cowgirl girl

How long do you think she'll keep that cupcake on her head?

Today was Superhero Day at school. My girls weren't going to participate (read: I wasn't going to stay up making costumes all night, sewing last minute armbands and stress myself out.) Wasn't. But, there was a certain 8 year-old who had her heart set on being a superhero, and then come 2 others who wanted capes for the occasion. So, after we got everyone in bed, Ryan settled down with the Mac on his lap to find fun and exciting places to visit when we go to Asia (is it time already?) while I changed spool after spool, digging through piles of fabric, summoning suitable superheroes for my 3 eldest: I give you BALLERINA GIRL, COWGIRL GIRL, and last, but in no way the least, CUPCAKE GIRL, complete with cupcake wrapper cape, cupcake boots, and all. They'll thank me one day. Right?

PS Azure wasn't about to be left out. She wants to be cupcake girl, too. Off to make one more cape...

  8. *And* you're sewing Halloween costumes? Really? (I say let these do double duty, but I'm sure your girls have their own ideas!) BTW, I am very excited for you to go fabric and trim shopping in Asia. It is GREAT over here. Korea will beat Japan in prices and variety but not cuteness. Kawai-i!
