You'd Think I'd Learn
I just finished Olive's birthday dress, made it according to her measurements, but failed to lengthen it (and the pattern has you do a facing on the hem, so letting it down is not an option). So, yes, it's a bit on the short side. I'm looking for some burnt orange leggings or thick cable tights to match her pimento. Or some olive colored ones, of course, that would do.
What about buying a white cotton tight and dying it burnt orange?ReplyDelete
the company I work for has some cute orange leggings - www.naartjie.com the colors name is grenadine. Also there are some cute patterned footless tights, if they haven't sold out yet.ReplyDelete
I love it. Pimento, short hem and all. Do each of the girls get a new dress for every birthday?ReplyDelete
Did you make the olive? How?ReplyDelete
what a lucky Olive!ReplyDelete
I will keep my eyes out for burnt orange tights--at least I know they have them in adult sizes in Korea! So cute!ReplyDelete
I love it- as always- you are absolutely amazing!ReplyDelete
Adorable...like always! I was just looking at your Etsy site at all of the amazing stuff you have sold.....I am jelous of the people that are buying your cute stuff!!....someday:)ReplyDelete
It's adorable! I love the idea of burnt orange leggings.ReplyDelete
the olive is devine...oh woops, Devine is devine and the Olive on the dress is just so darn cute, lucky olive that is attached to the dress and lucky Olive that gets to wear the dress. Tina (Brendon's mom)ReplyDelete
Katy, this is so cute! I love the olive detail. Have you had any luck finding tights?ReplyDelete
Jordan--I try to, it also depends on how many dresses they have.ReplyDelete
Becky--yes. I felted it, doing the pimento first, then the green. It was a bit tricky, so as to not cover the pimento, but I'm pleased how it turned out. You can buy wool roving at a craft store and you pull pieces off, and rub them in your palms using warm water and a little soap (it needs both friction and the soap helps swell the fibers so they adhere to each other more easily--I'm sure there are a million how-to's online)
Ann--I finally just died some using red and orange and they came out just right!
