You'd Think I'd Learn

I just finished Olive's birthday dress, made it according to her measurements, but failed to lengthen it (and the pattern has you do a facing on the hem, so letting it down is not an option). So, yes, it's a bit on the short side. I'm looking for some burnt orange leggings or thick cable tights to match her pimento. Or some olive colored ones, of course, that would do.

  3. I love it. Pimento, short hem and all. Do each of the girls get a new dress for every birthday?

  11. Jordan--I try to, it also depends on how many dresses they have.
Becky--yes. I felted it, doing the pimento first, then the green. It was a bit tricky, so as to not cover the pimento, but I'm pleased how it turned out. You can buy wool roving at a craft store and you pull pieces off, and rub them in your palms using warm water and a little soap (it needs both friction and the soap helps swell the fibers so they adhere to each other more easily--I'm sure there are a million how-to's online)
Ann--I finally just died some using red and orange and they came out just right!
