I've gone free form

Two of the men in my life whom I admire the most have a common denominator .  They like to push the limit and question everything...well, almost everything.  My dad wears a beanie on his mission when it's cold and buys all the other elders one as well.  When it's below zero, it just makes sense, rules or no.  He's making blankets for each of the grandchildren born in '08, though he has no sewing machine and he's certainly never had sewing instruction.  I am trying to convince him to post pictures of his other sewing projects.  Ryan also enjoys thinking divergently.  He has amazing foresight and great ideas for most any subject one can conjure.  He usually has multiple one-man crusades in progress.  I have learned great ways of thinking from both of these men.

As I was starting this free form necklace, I got about 2 inches into it when I threatened to send it the way of rubbish.  I didn't see the potential.  I am normally the type who likes the circumscribed: be it numbered, bulleted, or lettered instructions for something novel to me.  Recipes, sewing, routes, you name it.  I asked for Ryan's opinion, which he always has at the ready, and he was excited enough about my pathetic palm of beads that I decided to carry on.  I'm glad I did.  I am learning to trust myself more and to care less what others think.  Thank you, you two.

  5. Ashley, that's the problem is it just takes too many hours to sell for a price people are willing to pay (even though much of this was done poolside--quite enjoyable!)
