Bloom Where You're Planted

what we lovingly call the 'island of beauty'--amongst the cosmos is the gardenia bush
who has dozens of buds--i will make a corsage for old time's sake

among our lettuce, beets, cabbage, carrots, radishes, are our broccoli plants, getting big and strong to bring forth good bounty

glads, along with the sweet potato vine you planted coming back

an amaryllis growing outside!  these were a treat and surprise to see blooming one day in our 'reject' area
{with a late in-bloom azalea that was moved to make room for the vegetable garden}

always cosmos

miss carrot nose showing our carrots are now two-biters
Nobody ever stops trying to please or impress their parents, no matter your age. They gave gushing praise for those black and white checkered decoupaged earrings and your first crocheted....shape you gave them for Mother's and Father's day, respectively.  So I post this because I am still a daughter, I was a daughter first:  look what's in our yard, dad

  1. GOOD JOB KATY!
    You have impressed me again.
    Wish I could bite that carrot and have those cosmos sitting on our table. Keep me posted on your gardening delights.

  4. Mmmm, I've tasted those carrots. We found aphids on our cabbage, brussel sprouts and broccoli--so I'm using insecticidal soap--I hope they survive. Beautiful yard, Katy. I can't wait until we're close enough to trade bounty.

  7. What a Garden!!....almost as pretty as your beautiful curly hair. Why don't you wear your hair curly more often?

  8. Marianne, It's just easier to live my life with my hair tied back. It might get caught in the paper shredder or in the disposal, or shut in the washer. Those types of things are very dangerous. I'm just being safe.
