Right now I am hopelessly trying to finish a baby quilt, make roman shades for my front room out of fabric from my study, make new curtains for my study out of different fabric, and I bought a jelly roll of Halloween fabric with Evie (my oldest) because she went to 2 sewing camps this summer and she's got the bug...a harlot I tell you. She told me that when I was 4 I told her that "naps were a waste of my time and reading would be far more productive". I don't remember saying that, but it sounds like something I would have said. And I DO remember sitting there staring her down until she gave in and let me read. I think if you are a crafter, it is likely because you just can't stand not doing something. Crafts fill the void and make all time productive.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162868398041347638.post-66997034500960852402012-08-25T03:02:20.434-04:002012-08-25T03:02:20.434-04:00Oh, I really recongnize that feeling of having to ...Oh, I really recongnize that feeling of having to "make" something. During high school I'd sew during class, on my lap, and then started selling scarves to classmates. Then I worked on crocheting without looking so I could stay up at night working, without anyone knowing. Luckily I'm not that committed anymore. But still my goal is a project a day, usually mending, ok hardly ever mending, but decorated plain shirts for the boy, drawing patterns for the next day. I'm with you, projects are awesome, makes up for the pile of laundry, sort of. So you're not alone. I guess it helps a bit with me that my sewing table is pretty much permanently positioned in my living room in such a way to block the fireplace from curious little Granny Lane inhabitants. We stopped using said fireplace when we got those squirmy little pink things! ;) Technically speaking, I can sit and sew and keep an eye on our girls at the same time... if it weren't for curious little fingers that want to "help" and can't resist shiny things (like needles... especially moving ones!)Laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07717835382469677601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162868398041347638.post-69457812438404830142012-08-24T21:54:31.275-04:002012-08-24T21:54:31.275-04:00Jami--I LOVE room to room conversations! My mom is the exact same way when it comes to sitting and enjoying. She's always moving about and our conversations are always happening from room to room as she moves around! She's convinced it's a "March thing".
